Ray, a San Antonio native and Harlandale High School graduate, excelled as a multi-sport athlete before earning a Business Management degree on a golf scholarship at Texas Lutheran University. As a collegiate golfer, he was a standout golfer winning the American Southwest Conference Championship and being named TLU Athlete of the Year in 2002. He played on the pro golf mini tour which included a trip to PGA Tour Q-School before transitioning to education in 2011 within Harlandale ISD. He served as a Career Technology Education Teacher and Head Golf Coach at Harlandale High School.

In 2018, Garza founded On Par Golf to make quality golf instruction accessible and support youth golf in San Antonio. The business has grown to include locations at Mission Del Lago Golf Course, Cedar Creek Golf Course, and Northern Hills Golf Course. He also opened Rockin’ G’ Grill at Mission Del Lago in 2020. In 2023, On Par Golf launched an online apparel store, OnParGolfApparel.com, with profits supporting the Flamingo Club, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded to provide golf equipment and course access to youth. Since the Flamingo Club’s inaugural event in June 2024 more than $50,000 worth of new equipment, access to golf and apparel has been awarded to the San Antonio community. The most recent addition to the OPG portfolio of businesses is the launch of the On Par Golf Junior Tour, which allows a platform for young golfers to showcase their competition golf skills.

AJ Montecinos is a seasoned PGA Tour caddie with over 20 years of experience in the golf industry.  Born in Chicago, Illinois, he attended Jackson State University, where he was a part of a historic golf team and was inducted into the JSU Sports Hall of Fame in 2018.  Montecinos’ is a 6 time winner on the PGA tour.  His most notable achievements include caddying for Y.E. Yang during his historic victory over Tiger Woods at the 2009 PGA Championship, also making history with Kevin Streelman running off 7 birdies in a row to win the 2015 Traveler’s Championship.  His most recent victories include 2022 RSM Classic with Adam Svensson and 2024 Myrtle Beach Classic with Chris Gotterup.  He just received his first victory as an instructor/mental coach with Tim O’Neal at the 2024 Dominion Energy Charity Classic on the Champions Tour.

Montecinos’ is the visionary behind the GiiC clothing brand, www.giiconline.com. The brand offers a range of apparel, including hats, hoodies, and golf shirts, with a focus on impacting people to let go and show love without imposing on them.  Montecinos’ approach to caddying/teaching is comprehensive, emphasizing the importance of fundamentals while understanding the player’s needs to make strategic on course decisions.  His experience and success on the PGA Tour have established him as a respected figure in the world of professional golf.

Originally from North Carolina, Durwin is an Air Force retiree. After 21 years on active duty, he attended the Golf Academy of America from 2017 to 2018. The following few years he caddied at the Sea Island Golf and Resort in St. Simons, GA until relocating to Texas.

In San Antonio, he managed at both Mission Del Lago and Brackenridge golf course. Durwin is a master fitter formally from with Srixon/Cleveland Golf. He is a passionate and patient instructor who values people and time.

Jake is a native of San Antonio, Texas, playing his collegiate golf at St. Mary’s University and University of the Incarnate Word. 

Upon graduation, Jake became the head coach at University of the Incarnate Word, making him the youngest Division I College coach in the 2022-2023 season. As a coach, he holds the school record for team round, highest team finish in a Division I event, and highest finish in conference championship history.

Jake is a big believer in data-driven approaches to making players and teams better. In his swing coaching, he is utilizes Sportsbox 3D software, Boditrak Force Plates, Trackman/Flightscope technology, and the Tour Read green reading system. 

Jake uses the DECADE Course management system in working with younger players looking to get better apart from technical improvements. He firmly believes, with proper strategy and math-based decision making, the average high school or college player can save several strokes off their average round.

You can always say Coach Anguiano has been an advocate for golf even at an early age. While attending Holy Cross High school he was instrumental in starting a golf program. Coach Anguiano worked in the golf business from 1997-2005 serving as an assistant golf professional at Mission Del Lago and Cedar Creek. In 2002 he passed his Playing Ability Test with the PGA of America on his first attempt.  In 2005 he began his career in education serving as a teacher/coach for the Harlandale Independent School District. Coach Anguiano has coached football, soccer, basketball, tennis and helps coordinate the middle school golf program. Coach Anguiano currently holds a Business degree from Texas A&M Kingsville and a Masters degree in Educational Administration. Other interests include cooking, fishing and spending time with his children and girlfriend.

Christi Cano is a native of San Antonio, Texas.  Recently, Cano was named the inaugural Head Men’s Golf Coach at Texas A&M University-San Antonio.  The past four seasons she served as the Head Men’s & Women’s Golf Coach at the University of Houston-Victoria.

Cano has competed at all levels from junior golf, college, to professional.  She captured the San Antonio Women’s Amateur Championship title five times from 1999-2003 and received a full athletic scholarship to play golf at Oklahoma State University where she was an All-American in 2001.  She helped her team win three Big XII Championships from 2001-2003.  In 2003, Cano earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing from Oklahoma State University.

She then went on to play professional golf on the Duramed Futures Tour and then the LPGA Tour from 2005-2010.  She also qualified and competed in three US Women’s Opens in 2005, 2010 and 2013.  In 2013 she captured her first professional event winning the Texas Women’s Open.

Other accomplishments from Cano include: 1999 San Antonio Sportswoman of the Year, One of South Texas’ Most Influential Women in Sport 2006, Inducted into the National Hispanic Sports Hall of Fame 2008, and most recently inducted into the 2016 San Antonio Independent School District Sports Hall of Fame. She most recently finished tied for eighth place at the 2019 Texas Women’s Open.

Mark grew up playing golf in San Antonio and decided to get into teaching golf 18 years ago. He spent 15 years developing young golfers at The First Tee. After retiring from The First Tee he joined On Par Golf part time to continue his love of teaching young people. His philosophy is to allow the students to be their own best coach and be the best version of themselves. When not playing or teaching golf Mark enjoys his wife of 42 years and spending time with his kids and grandkids.

Juan Carlos Padilla is an Army Veteran and PGA of America Associate who brings extensive experience in golf instruction, sales, and client engagement to On Par Golf. A dynamic sales professional, he has a proven track record of building strong relationships and driving sustainable revenue growth.

As Principal Consultant of JC Padilla Consulting LLC, Juan has guided organizations in streamlining operations and achieving measurable business outcomes. He recently expanded his leadership and customer service expertise as an Assistant Golf Professional at Canyon Springs Golf Club, where he successfully combined his passion for golf with exceptional service, coordination, and operational support.
